Nicolle Collapsible Show Cage Specs

Outside dimensions; 24.5 cm in length, 16 cm width, 20 cm high.

List of materials:

• 14cm x 23.5cm of sheet metal, hot galvanized gauge 30.
• 66 inches or 165 cm of 1/2 x 1/2 inch (natural) white pine.
• 34 inches or 85 cm of 12mm x 6 cm of (natural) white pine.
• 1/8’ masonite board, cut to 14cm x 23.5cm.
• 960cm of stainless steel wire, gauge 308, 1/16”.
• 14cm stainless steel wire, gauge 308, 1/8”.
• Green seed / water cups, 6cm x 4.2cm x 3.5cm high (outside
measurements).
• 2 perches, 15cm long and 1.5cm diameter with flat bottoms.
• 4ea. screws with inserted guides for tightning. (Part #568-047, 628-506) Both from Spaenaur.Com in Canada.
• 4ea. guide screws.
• Metal eye hook for tray.
• Hook for tray fastener, this is made from short piece of stainless steel wire.

Finished pieces – all wood is planned to specs.

• Metal tray, 12.6cm x 21.7cm with sides folded up 7mm on 3 sides and 12mm on front side to attach tray front.

• Masonite bottom board. 14cm x 23.5cm x 1/8”thick. White side up.

• Top metal gird made with 308 gauge stainless steel wire.
10ea, 22.5cm long, 1/16’ dia. wire, 2ea. 12.5cm long, 1/16” dia and 1ea. 14cm long, 1/8” dia. wire. Larger diameter wire is used in the center cross piece support.
Note: You should not pre-cut wire to the exact length before welding. You want some overhang at welding time, to help even out heat dispersion. You re-cut and rebuff the tips close to the welding spot after the welding is complete.

• Right / Left Sides.
Each side is identical and includes; 16ea. – 13.5cm long stainless steel wire, 1/16”dia. Wooden bottom sections are 6cm x 21.5cm x 12mm. Top sections are 1.5cm x 1.5cm x 21.5cm. Wire bars are evenly distributed over the length of this piece.

• Door Side End,
Wire is gauge 308, 1/16” dia. stainless steel. Wooden frame is 1.5cm x 1.5cm x 13cm for sides and 6cm x 13cm x 12mm for bottom piece. Wire needed is 6ea 12.5cm 1/16” attached to door slide and 4ea. wire for balance of the side. Two on each side of door slide. Door slide piece is 1.5cm x 1.5cm x 10cm.

• Seed / Water End.
Wire is gauge 308, 1/16” dia. stainless steel. Wood piece above tray is 4.8cm x 13cm x 12mm. Wood piece attached to galvanized tray is 3.2cm x 12.8cm x 12mm. Wire needed is 10ea. 11.5cm 1/16” evenly spaced across the wood frame. The second wire from left and second from the right are shorter for the seed and water openings. They are 8cm in length. Cross wire for seed and water hole is 2.7cm. Water and seed holes are spaced between the first and third wire from both left and right. Openings are 2.5 cm wide by 2.8cm high.

• 2 perches are finished to 15cm long and 1.5cm diameter with flat bottom. Perches should fit snuggly to avoid movement when in place.

• 2 cups are 6cm x 4.2cm x 3.5cm high (outside measurements), dark green in color.

There are guide holes drilled in the end pieces and screws placed side pieces for more secure fitting end product. Cage is held together with 4 removable screws making the cage uniquely collapsible. Also not mentioned above are slotted grooves placed in the sides and top to hold the masonite bottom and wire top.
