Master/Champion Breeder Program

In 2012, WWC launched the Master/Champion Breeder Program. The goal of the program is simply to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of exhibitors and to encourage future exhibitors to present the best birds they can for show. Here is a review of how it works…

• WWC will recognize the highest scoring bird in the young bird division - aka Best of Show (this bird could be part of a team or a single) and highest scoring team (Best of Show team) registered to WWC by WWC members for consideration. Birds who may have been registered (banded) to other Clubs, Societies, and Federations prior to the 2013 show, will be “grandfathered in” if they meet the entry requirements for competition and were bred by a breeder who is a WWC member during the breeding season corresponding to the contest (i.e.: the 2023 breeding season corresponds to the January 2024 contest).

• Breeders who have exhibited a Best of Show bird or Best of Show team, become a “Champion Breeder”.

• To become a “Master Breeder”, which is an even bigger honor, a breeder must show consistency by achieving a minimum of 3 Best of Show wins (any combination of Best of Show individual bird and/or Best of Show team) over a minimum of two years, which do not have to be consecutive.  NOTE: Only Best of Show awards are to be considered. Best tour awards and highest scoring single bird awards, do not count for Champion Breeder or Master Breeder titles.

• Once a breeder has achieved this designation, it’s “forever” as long as the member continues to be in good standing with the club.

• Since the club founders have kept excellent records of our past shows, this program was launched with the retroactive achievements of the exhibitors since WWC’s first show in 2001.

• “Champion Breeder” and “Master Breeder” honor roll will be added to the WWC website. “Champion or Master” will be added to the WWC breeder list roster where appropriate and, these breeders are encouraged to add these “titles” to their business cards and personal websites. Those achieving new titles will be acknowledged in annual post show newsletters.
